This design is based on the racist gator bait illustrations of the Jim Crow era that featured gators eating black people. The way Desantis, Uthmeier, the Tr*mp admin and the republican party as a whole have been gleefully talking about gators chasing and eating immigrants stems from the same racist trope. We decided to flip the narrative and have a gator chomping on Florida’s most notorious boot stuffer. 💋👢
We feel it’s important to note that alligators are naturally afraid of humans - since 1948 there have only been 30 recorded deaths from alligator attacks. The notion that Uthmeier and Desantis have been pushing about the extra security gators provide is both false and stupid.
